Time flies! The Mansfeld lab is operating since January 2013 and so we have just turned 5!
This alone was a great occasion to gather together and celebrate. However, we also made toasts for Gabor's thesis submission, him securing the DIGS-BB Wrap-up Grant and Alena becoming the DIGS-BB fellow. In the meantime we threw darts and potted some billiard balls. What a night!
It's this time of year again.. We gathered at Dilyana's for a feast with international Xmass dishes and - of course - Glühwein. Joerg gave an amazing show by preparing Feuerzangenbowle (literal translation: Fire tongs punch). It was a great opportunity to share Xmass stories and just spend some time together before everyone leaves home for a break.

Late October and early November were full of reasons to celebrate! Dilyana has successfully passed her 3-year TAC. Also, Alena has presented her research and passed the examination on her 1st year TAC. All of it while Gabor, in the midst of preparing the manuscript and finishing experiments before sitting down to write his PhD thesis, has successfully secured his own funding for the next year by getting a DIGS-BB Wrap-up Grant. Congrats!
There was no way that these successes will pass without celebration so we decided to go out to a lovely vietnamese restaurant to get together and toast!
